BHUBANESWAR:As India emerges as a major technological power in the world, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is going to add a new chapter to this journey, said Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan while attending the ‘India AI Impact Summit 2026’ in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Shri Pradhan said this while addressing a special session titled “Pushing the Frontier of AI in India” at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi, on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. He said that this conference is a visionary initiative of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, which aims to promote the growth of AI in India. The entire world is today watching India’s rapid adoption of AI. AI will play a major role in building a ‘Developed India’ by 2047 and establishing India as a knowledge superpower of the world.

According to the Minister, the use of AI in education and AI-related education are complementary to each other. Today’s youth are thinking completely different and innovatively compared to the previous generation. The Union Minister advised the youth of the country to get educated through AI and adopt it. He also urged them to empower themselves and create some innovations. He said that the unique efforts of Indian youth will make India an unrivaled force in the global AI map.

This is an effort by the Ministry to integrate AI across the education system in line with the vision of National Education Policy 2020 and the national goal of ‘Developed India 2047’. Over the past decade, the Ministry of Education has laid the foundation for AI-enabled education through national digital platforms, policy frameworks, institutional reforms and initiatives in school education, higher education, skills and cutting-edge research and innovation. The objective of this session is to prepare India’s national AI-in-Education roadmap and strengthen industry-academic-government collaboration. Shri Jayant Chowdhury, Minister of State for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, participated in this session. The panel was attended by prominent figures from the education, industry and investment sectors.
