BHUBANESWAR; Continuing its dominance in the commercial coal block auction, the Naveen Jindal led Jindal Steel and Power Limited on Thursday won Utkal B-1 and Utkal B-2 coal blocks in Odisha.
The JSPL won the twin blocks at a premium of 15.25 %. The auction had started at a reserve price of 4 % while JSPL offered the highest of 15.25 % and won it.
These blocks have Geological Reserves 347.08 (MT). Earlier, JSPL had won Utkal-C block in Odisha offering 45% premium to Government. The block has geographical resources of 196.347 MT.
Before that , JSPL had bid highest for Gare -Palma-IV/1 coal block in Chattisgarh with a reserve capacity of 84.262 MT and 6.00 MTPA by 25% worth Rs 652.10 crore. It was first success of Naveen Jindal led JSPL Group in the on-going commercial coal block auction and continuing till now .
Twenty First Century Mining Private Limited won Rabodih OCP coal block in Jharkhand while BS Ispat Ltd bagged Chinora coal block in Maharashtra.
Ministry of Coal had launched the auction of coal mines for commercial mining under 14th Tranche of CMSP Act and 4th Tranche of MMDR Act on December 16, 2021. On the 1stday of the e-auction, four coal mines( under CMSP Act) were put up for auction and the details of the mines are as under: –
All four coal mines are fully explored coal mines.The total geological reserves for these coal mines are 498.10 Million Tonnes..Cumulative PRC for these coal mines is 10.76 MT per year.
