NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Continuing his attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her excessive arrogance , BJP National VP in Charge of Delhi and Assam, former 4th times MP, from Odisha, Baijayant ‘Jay’Panda on Saturday came down heavily on State Chief Secretary, Alapan Bandyopadhyay for not following civil service rules and guidelines.
“When all India service officers forget the all India part & succumb to their cadre state politicians’ egoes, join their machinations, walk out on & disrespect a meeting with the nation’s head of govt, it’s an unacceptable situation, represents the breakdown of the civil service,” BJP National VP Baijayant Jay Panda tweeted @PandaJay.
Bandyopadhyay has been shifted to the Ministry of Public Grievances and Pensions. Alapan Bandyopadhyay, West Bengal chief secretary, was recalled by the central government and deputed to the Ministry of Public Grievances and Pensions on Friday evening. This came a few hours after West Bengal CM Banerjee, along with Bandyopadhyay, arrived thirty minutes late to a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the impact of Cyclone Yaas. On Saturday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee appealed to the Centre to withdraw its order recalling Bandyopadhyay.
Earlier, Baijayant Panda in another tweet, had lambasted on Mamata Banerjee for not respecting federal cooperation. “Whatever your politics, you should be able to acknowledge that the West Bengal CM’s peevish, petty behaviour with the PM today is condemnable. He’s doing his duty & bending over backwards to help the state fight calamity, she’s grandstanding & spitting on cooperative federalism,” Baijayant Jay Panda had tweeted @PandaJay.
