After Lord Jagannath Temple, Naveen now focuses on Lord Lingaraj Temple

BHUBANESWAR: After Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri, Naveen now focuses on Lord Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar. Impressed by the Puri’s smooth land acquisition and subsequent events  for the development of Lord Jagannath Temple , the Naveen Patnaik Government in Odisha on Thursday announced the special package for Lingaraj Temple periphery development. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who chaired a high-level meeting at the Loka Seva Bhavan announced this development

The development programme, Ekamra Kshetra Yojana, will be launched on 66 acres of land. As many as nine projects such as restoration of Bindusagar and other heritage tanks, modern parking facilities and development of Mukteswar and Kedargouri temples will be initiated under the programme.

The government has also announced Rs 30000 cash assistance for evicted vendors along with allotment of shops in vending zones. Besides, the government has also decided to relocate the Shree Lingaraj police station and the office of the Lingaraj Temple Trust Board.

Housing and Urban Development Department Minister Pratap Jena, Minister and Local MLA Ashok Chandra Panda, Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, Development Commissioner Suresh Mohapatra, Works Secretary Dr Krishan Kumar and Municipal Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary were present at the meeting.
