PURI: The sleuths of State Vigilance department today raided the properties of Sub Assistant Auditor General of Cooperative Society in Puri on charges of amassing disproportionate assets.
The accused has been identified as Rama Krishna Kar, working as Sub Asst. Auditor General of Cooperative Society, O/o SAAGCS, Puri Audit Circle.
According to reports, a team of Bhubaneswar Vigilance Division carried out simultaneous searches at four places on the strength of search warrant.
Sources said the cops raided a double storied building at Makundaprasad, house of relative located at Jemadeipur in Khordha, his house at native village Ramachandrapur, under Rannapur PS in Nayagarh district and in Kar’s office at Puri.
In November 2019, the Vigilance wing of Odisha Police had conducted raids at establishments of Cooperative Society, Cutack Sub-Assistant Auditor General Siba Prasad Mallick.
On the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income by Cooperative Society, Cutack Sub-Assistant Auditor General Mallick, Vigilance sleuths conducted raids on his residential building and relative’s house at Bhubaneswar, house at native village Kutaranga in Kendrapada district and office room at Cuttack and detected assets worth Rs 71,25,029.
The detected assets include four-storied building of Rs 52,50,446, eight numbers of plots 9,48,000, deposits in different banks of 1,46,583, gold and silver ornaments of 2,71,498 and cash of Rs 39,000.Inquiry was still in progress.
