NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Few days after holding talks with Pravasi Odias staying Gulf Countries like, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman, Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was on Saturday held a video conference with NROs residing in South-East Asian Countries.
“Interacted with Pravasi Odia friends residing in the southeast asian countries through video conferencing. Discussed the #Covid19 situation in their respective countries and efforts they are taking to slow down the transmission and prevent further spread of the virus,” Union Minister Pradhan twitted.
“In the next few weeks the #VandeBharatMission will evacuate stranded citizens from countries like Uzbekistan, Russia,Germany, Spain,Thailand etc. to name a few. Team India under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi will continue with its tireless efforts to bring Indians back home.Happy that our friends are geared up to respond to the evolving situation. Urged them to take care of each other in these difficult times,” Pradhan informed.
“We also discussed how the world as we know it is going to look, behave and change in the post #Covid19 world. Technology, IT-enabled automation and new business models involving less-contact is going to be the new world order for the next few decades,” he said.
“India has shown remarkable perceptiveness and alacrity in tackling the pandemic. Requested our friends to provide information about GOI’s #VandeBharatMission to stranded Indians in their contact list to enable their repatriation.With the commencement of the 1st phase of the #VandeBharatMission, we have begun evacuating our stranded citizens from around 12 countries, including Maldives, Singapore, Malaysia and Bangladesh in the southeast asian region” the Union Minister said.
“Requested all my friends to follow the lockdown guidelines laid down by their respective authorities, practice #SocialDistancing and take care of their health to eliminate the risk of #Covid19 infection. We shall overcome this crisis together.Jai Jagannath,” he added.
