ADGP(Law –Order) YK Jethwa visit Eastern Police Range to Review Preparedness for Yaas

BALASORE/BHADRAK: YK. Jethwa ADG (L&O) visited Balasore and Bhadrak to review cyclone evacuation plans and preparedness for post cyclone rescue and recovery operations.60 ODRAF formations and 55 platoons force deployed for tackling cyclone YAAS.

Highly trained with More than 800 ODRAF personnel and fully equipped with Tower lights, Search lights, Gensets, JCBs, Hydra Cranes, inflatable boats, high end hydraulic tree cutters, gas cutters, plasma cutters, Sat phones and walkie talkie sets are in high state of readiness to tackle Cyclone YAAS.

Balasore has an 84 km long coastline covered by 10 Police Stations, including 03 Marine PSs.  A population of 90789 residing in 43 villages in 26 GPs located near the coast in low lying areas have been identified for evacuation. 140  cyclone shelters and 1102 alternative shelters have been readied for the same. 12 formations of ODRAF, apart from NDRF and Fire Services teams, as well as 15 platoons force have been deployed for pre/post cyclone operations.

Similarly, Bhadrak has a 54 km long coastline covered by 8 Police Stations , including 3 Marine PSs. A population of 94369 residing 41 villages in 14 GPS located near the coast have been identified for evacuation. 104 cyclone shelters and 661 alternative shelters have been readied for the same. 9 formations of ODRAF, apart from NDRF and Fire Services teams, as well as 12 platoons force have been deployed for pre/post cyclone operations.

ADG(L&O) directed the Bhadrak & Balasore SPs to be pro active and extra vigilant in maintenance of Law & Order, evacuation and Rescue and Recovery operations.IG (ER), Diptesh Patnaik Collectors and SsP of Balasore and Bhadrak attended the review.Odisha Police is fully prepared and in readiness to meet the challenge.
