“ AA” – Ayusman and Ayaaj Gang active on NH from Bhubaneswar to Bhadrak, BBSR to Angul, BBSR to Puri and BBSR to Berhampur arrested by Commissionerate Police, 40 Gold Chain Seized , 5 arrested

BHUBANESWAR:  Investigating into a series of gold chain snatching cases in Bhubaneswar city especially on N.H and main roads of the city Commissionerate Police, BBSR UPD in a swift and timely action nabbed a well organised inter district gang who are veteran professional criminals and detected a series of cases in which they are involved. This gang is known as “ AA” ( Ayusman and Ayaaj) gang and were active on N.H from Bhubaneswar to Bhadrak, BBSR to Angul,  BBSR to Puri and BBSR to Berhampur. To detect these cases was a big challenge for police. All the  gang members were arrested from Jatni.

Nane and address of the accused :-

1. Ayaz Mahamad (20), S/O- Fayaz Mahamad, Of Accounts Colony, PS- Jatani, Khorda.
2. Ayusman Tripathy (27), S/O- Lt Biswamohan Tripathy  Of Harichandi Sahi, Puri, At/P- Jalda A Biock , Rourkela
3. Debu @Debasis Barik (19), S/O- Pradosh Kumar Barik, Of Bachara , PS- Jatani, Khorda.
4. Raja @ Sibaprasad Barik (23), S/O- Pradiyuman Kumar Barik Of Bachara , PS- Jatani, Khorda.
5. Rinku @ Rajat Kumar Nanda(25), S/O- Janaranjan Nanda of Jharapada, PS- Delanga , Puri.

Article seized :-

1. 40 Numbers OF GOLD chain. ( weighing about 400 Grams ).
2. Cash 02 Lacs ( Sale proceeds).
3. One KTM Bike.
4. One DOMINAR – 400 Bike.
5. One R1-5 YAMAHA Bike.
6. One PULSAR NS – 200.
7. 05 mobile phones.

Modus Operandi :-

1. This is a well organised 05 members gang staying at Jatni.
2. The gang leaders are “ Ayaaj “ and “ Ayusman “.
3. They use different speed bikes to commit the crime.
4. Wear full dress and helmets to conceal their identity so also CCTV recording.
5. Uses different fake and tampered number plates in their bike.
6. They are having other associates.
7. Especially operates in evening and fore noon.
8. Area of operation is N.H and main roads of the city.
9. After commission of some crime they used to sell the used bike and arrange new one.
10. Targets bike borne commuters on road / pillion riders and snatches only gold chains.
11. Disposes gold chains with different goldsmiths with a plea that ornaments belong to their own.
12. Distribute cash and gold among themselves.
13. Ayusman stays at Rourkela and Ayaaj with others stays at Jatni and operates from Jatni.

Habits and reputes : –

The gang leader Ayusman was previously forwarded from BBSR UPD in the year 2022 – 2023 in gold chain snatching cases and was on court bail. Other leader Ayaaj was also for warded in Mobile snatching cases in Jatani P.S in the year 2023. After releasing on bail both of them arranged other gang mambers and were active from last four months.

1. They only commit gold chain snatching cases and after disposal spend all the ill-gotten money by purchasing brand dresses, costly shoes, motor cycles, addict to drink and woman.
2. They used to stay at OYO Hotels and other places and attending girls.
3. Remain active in social media like Facebook, Instagram and uploads reels and videos.
4. They also keep gold chains with them for their personal use.
5. Very swiftly they were committing crime and concealing their identity in the locality. They were active in Khurda, Berhampur, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Angul, Puri and Ganjam districts.

Case Involved :- ( Total 24 Cases ).

1. Nayapalli P.S – 06 Cases.
2. Saheed Nagar P.S –   04 Cases.
3. Mancheswar P.S – 03 Cases.
4. Bharatpur P.S– 05 Cases.
5. Khandagiri P.S – 03 Cases.
6. Pahala P.S – 03 Cases.
7. Previously accused Ayushman Tripathy was forwarded in Khandagiri P.S Case No. 195/2022, 233/2022, 240/2022, Chandrasekharpur P.S Case No. 161/2022.
8. Similarly, in the year 2023 accused Rajat and Ayaaz was forwarded in Jatni P.S Case related to mobile snatching.
