NEW DELHI/NAGPUR/BHUBANESWAR: The RSS founders late Doctor Ji and late Guru Ji read Keshab Baliram Hedgewar and Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar and the incumbent , Mohan Bhawagat might have realising the concept of a ‘Akhand Bharat’ after the Sangh Parwari’s most successful political figure, Narendra Modi becoming India’s 1st longest serving Prime Minister from Non-Congress establishments.
Modi on August 13 has surpassed Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s 2,268 days in office and became the 4th longest Prime Minister of India. PM Modi has completed over six years as the Indian PM.PM Modi’s predecessor Manmohan Singh is the third-longest serving Indian PM. He stayed in office for 10 years and 4 days.
“Today, PM Modi becomes the longest serving Indian PM of non-Congress origin. (Atal Bihari) Vajpayee ji served for 2,268 days in all his terms combined. Today PM Modi has surpassed this tenure,” the BJP said.
The first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru retains the status of the longest-serving Indian PM. Nehru served for 16 years and 286 days. His daughter Indira Gandhi was the second-longest serving Indian PM with a term lasting 11 years and 59 days.
In 2014, the Modi-led BJP decimated all opposition and swept the election, becoming the first party to win a majority in over three decades.
Before moving to New Delhi, PM Modi served as the Chief Minister of his home state Gujarat for 13 years since 2001.Born in Vadnagar in northern Gujarat, PM Modi, in his teens, sold tea – a part of his life that would take on immense significance at a critical turn of his political career.
Known as a strong debater in school, he was barely in his teens when he joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, the student outfit linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the ideological mentor of the BJP.
