CUTTACK:A joint meeting was held today via video conference, chaired by IGP, Central Range, Cuttack, to address the alarming use of bait bombs targeting wild animals in Athgarh, Badamba, and Narasinghpur areas. The meeting brought together SPs of Central Range Districts, RCCF-cum-Field Director, Satkosia Tiger Reserve, and DFOs of Athagarh and Cuttack Divisions.

The increasing use of bait bombs poses a significant threat to wildlife, livestock, and public safety, undermining conservation efforts. To combat this, Odisha Police and Satkosia Tiger Reserve authorities are joining forces to formulate a joint strategy, focusing on:
– Zero tolerance towards illegal explosive devices
– Proactive protection of wildlife and public safety
– Seamless Police-Forest coordination
Key actions include joint intelligence gathering, coordinated raids, and strict enforcement. We urge the public to report such incidents, helping us protect wildlife and communities. Our objective is clear: curb this threat and strengthen conservation efforts.
