A cricket tournament organized by the Cuttack Commissionerate Police as part of the Bastiku Chal campaign at the Vasundhara Sports Ground in Bidanasi

BHUBANESWAR:Today, on the instructions of the Commissionerate Police, Cuttack UPD, a cricket tournament was organized for the children of all the slums of Cuttack city at the Vasundhara playground in Bidanasi. Eight teams participated in this tournament, including two teams from Balisahi slum under Madhu Patna police station, two teams from Nimpur slum under Jagatpur police station, one team each from the slums under Markat Nagar police station, Phase II police station, Bidanasi police station, and Chauliyaganj police station.

The sports festival was inaugurated by Cuttack DCP Rishikesh Khilari Dyandeo, among others, Additional DCP of Cuttack UPD Shri Ranjit Kumar Parshti, ACP Zone Three Ananya Agasti, ACP Amitabh Mohapatra, ACP Ashok Kumar Giri, ACP Sudhanshu Jena, Reserve Police Inspector Bibhu Prasad Pradhan and other senior officers and police personnel of Cuttack Urban Police joined in and encouraged the players. The semi-final and final matches will be held tomorrow at the Vasundhara Sports Ground among the teams that won today’s sports competition.

The Basti Ku Chal campaign was started to establish good relations between the police and the slum residents in the city. In the past, free health care camps, blood donation programs, etc. have been organized in the slums through this campaign. Our main objective is to establish good relations between the Commissionerate Police and the youth of the slums through sports, said ACP Amitabh Mohapatra, coordinator of the Basti Ku Chal campaign.
