CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR: Police have arrested 28 accused persons in Jajpur, 06 nos in Dhenkanal district, 05 nos in Jagatsinghpur district and 23 accused persons in Puri district in connection with poll disruption incidents during both phase till date. A total of 62 persons arrested so far, the DGP office said.
Police have seized 388380 Litres Liquor, 38 illigal arms, 2311 gms of narcotic drugs, registered 5058 nos of excise cases and executed 1906 no of pending warrants during the election process so far.
The Third phase of 3-tier PRI Elections – 2022 in the State will be held on 20th February and people of 29 different districts will cast their votes. State Police have made adequate security arrangement for free and fair elections.
240 platoons force, 1625 mobile patrolling parties along with district Police Officers/ Men have been deployed all over the state for smooth conduct of third phase of elections. 18486 booths will go for poll during this phase of elections. The election will be conducted with strict enforcement of State Election Commission guidelines and Covid protocols.
