BHUBANESWAR: Cuttack Collector Vineet Bhardwaj, Jagatsinghpur Collector Parul Patawari, Angul Superintendent of Police Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra, Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M, Khurda SP Jugal Kishore Banoth, Rourkela SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra, Cuttack UPD DCP Kanwar Vishal Singh, and Inspector General of Police (Central Range) in Cuttack Ashish Kumar Singh are under Election Commission of India’s scanner.
The ECI on Tuesday asked Odisha Government to immediately transfer two IAS officers and 6 IPS Officers.
In a letter to Chief Secretary of Odisha, in this regard, ECI Secretary Rakesh Kumar said that the eight senior officials be transferred to non-election related posts. A panel of three eligible officers should be provided in respect of each of the above-mentioned posts.
Notably, the Secretary requested the State government to send a compliance report to the Commission latest by 5.00 pm today April 2, 2024.
The decision came after several political parties alleged bias on the part of several officers who were misusing their position and working for a particular party.
