BHUBANESWAR: As many as 11 MLAs from BJD and Congress have cross voted and cast their votes in favour of BJP backed Dilip Ray in Odisha Rajya Sabha Polls, results of which declared on Monday evening.
Of the 11 MLAs, 6 were from BJD including Chandramani Kuanar, Souvik Biswal, Naba Kishore Mallick, Suhasini Jena, Devi Ranjan Tripathy , Ramakant Bhoi and 2 suspended BJD MLAs including Sanatan Mahakud and Arbinda Mohapatra.
While 3 Congress MLAs who voted to BJP candidates were Ramesh Jena, Sofia Firdous and Dasarathi Gamango.
Due to cross voting BJD-Congress and CPI(M) backed candidate Dr Dateshwar Hota lost the Rajya Sabha polls to BJP backed Dilip Ray.
Of the 4 seats, BJP won 2 including Manmohan Samal and Sujeet Kumar, BJP backed got 1 Dilp Ray while BJD shared 1 of Dr Santrupta Mishra.
