BHUBANESWAR: ‘My Government has always given top priority to people’s grievance redressal. Before COVID-19 happened, the CMO used to hold grievance hearing in Bhubaneswar. People from all over the State used to come and submit their grievances and there was a robust system to address them. It gave hope to the people to reach out to highest office of the State. When COVID happened, the CM grievance cell was closed due to restriction for all most 2 years and it was restarted after normalcy,’ CM Patnaik said while making a statement on the floor of the Odisha State Assembly on Monday.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Patnaik defended the tours of CMO officers, led by his secretary (5T) VK Pandian, to various districts, which has invited criticism from the opposition BJP , Congress and well as from civil society and media. Chief Minister Patnaik told the House that these tours illustrate teamwork at the highest level.
“I sincerely appreciate Ministers , district administration, the CMO, the Department and other involved in carrying out this mammoth exercise so peacefully,’ CM Patnaik said.
Anti-People, said CM Patnaik on opposition to district visits by CMO officers to solve people’s grievances.
Making a Statement in the Assembly, CM said, “Opposition members should be happy that so many grievances in their areas have also been resolved. I do not understand how someone can oppose the solving of peoples grievances. Such opposition is anti-people and people will give them a befitting reply for such attitude. After all we are in public service and peoples’ grievances are our topmost priority”.
‘People are happy …people’s representatives are happy ..Opposition members should not be unhappy because of political reasons. For my Government, people come first, resolving people issues is a top priority and I will continue to do so in the best possible manner,’ CM Patnaik added.
