BHUBANESWAR: Many questions are now being raised after Bhaskar Sahoo of Kanas area, the man who allegedly threw ink at Odisha 5T Secretary VK Pandian and Puri Collector Samarth Verma in Satyabadi area of the district was set free.
While some claimed police had picked up the accused from the spot and detained him at police station for questioning and on Sunday, they released Bhaskar after he signed an undertaking of not repeating such acts in the future.
But other sources said, Pandian himself had instructed Puri Police to set free Sahoo. The exact reason behind his act has not been ascertained yet.
The ink throwing incident had taken place at the Utkalmani Gopabandhu Smruti Mahavidyalaya when the 5T Secretary and the District Collector were moving towards the stage after reaching the college.
Bhaskar suddenly came nearer to the two officials from amidst a large crowd and committed the act.
