5T Onslaught on Corruption: With 8 More, Compulsory Retirement Figure Reached 130 in Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: Acting tough on corruption and corrupted officials, Naveen Patnaik led Government backed by 5T Initiative, in Odisha, has continued to give sleepless nights to wrong doers. In latest development, Odisha Government given compulsory retirement to 8 more officers, taking the number of government employees forced to retire for dubious practices since Naveen Patnaik returned to power in the current term to 130.

They were former Nimapada Tahasildar and in-charge Sub-Registrar Rama Chandra Jena, OAS Officer and former Jagatsinghpur Deputy Collector Gourang Charan Mohanty, OAS Officer Alphonse Bilung, former Superintending Engineer (irrigation) Bidhan Chandra Sahoo, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme CDPO Meena Patra, ICDS scheme CDPO Puspanajali Rath, former Deputy Excise Superintendent Ajit Kumar Mohapatra and Tihidi Block Cashier Prabhakar Pradhan.

Till now as many as 130 officials have been awarded compulsory retirement by the Naveen Patnaik led Government in Odisha for their role in corruption activities. Keeping its zero tolerance policy on corruption, the State government  gave compulsory retirement to 8 more officials.

Earlier, 2 Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officials, 1 District Sub-Registrar, and 1 former Chief District Veterinary Officer (CDVO).Deputy Collector of Angul, Janaki Nath Mishra, was facing two corruption cases and nine disciplinary proceedings, while Nuagada Tahasildar Akul Mallick was facing one corruption case and two disciplinary proceedings.Similarly, Dhenkanal Sub-Registrar Lalatendu Satapathy is facing two corruption cases and two disciplinary proceedings, while former Chief District Veterinary Officer (CDVO) of Nuapada, Trilochan Dhal, is facing one corruption case.
