BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday attended the Nijukti Parba of 504 Junior Engineers (Civil), who joined different departments of Odisha Government. While 398 of total 504 Junior engineers (Civil) joined Panchayati Raj Department, 78 appointed in Odisha Municipal Engineering Cadre and 28 of them joined the Public Health Engineering Cadre in the Housing and Urban Development Department.
Addressing the event, Chief Minister Patnaik called upon the young new engineers to serve the people and change their lives for the better.
CM advised the engineers to follow the 5T principles of Teamwork, Transparency, Technology and Time to see the Transformation in their work. He said, ‘You will see the complete transformation of Odisha in your lifetime. And you will be a catalyst of that transformation’. CM further highlighted that the Government has taken up a drive to bring transformation in every sector of society and also to bring visible improvement in quality of life of people.
The 24/7 Drink From Tap is one such transformative facility that even bigger cities like Delhi and Mumbai do not have, the CM said adding that Odisha wants to break new ground in all endeavours.. Provision of drinking water, sanitation, schemes like Basudha, Garima, Drink FromTap, Housing facility for urban poor under Jaga Mission and many other welfare programmes will be directly managed by these new engineers at the grassroots level.
