BHUBANESWAR: Odisha CEO Nikunja Dhal while addressing the press along with ADGP(Law and Order) Sanjay Kumar Singh, said Mock polls were conducted at 5.30 am, during which, glitches in the EVMs were noticed in some places and those were replaced. A total of 52 ballot units, 58 control units and 43 VVPATs have been replaced.
This is less than 1 percent of the total number of booths, he said. Highest 10 ballot units, 41 control units and 19 VVPATs have been replaced in Kalahandi Lok Sabha segment, Dhal said.
Meanwhile, voting underway 4 Lok Sabha seats including Kalahandi, Berhampur, Nabarangpur and Koraput seats and 28 assembly seats under it spread across 9 districts of Ganjam, Berhampur, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Kalahandi.
Till 11 AM , Odisha CEO informed that 23.28 % of polling recorded ,which was 9.75% at 9 am this morning.
Voting started at around 7 am in the morning and continuing smoothly amid unprecedented security measures including deployment of Central Para-Military Forces. Special security measures were taken for left-wing insurgency hit areas of the State. People are casting their votes at around 7,298 police stations spread across these 4 Parliamentary seats. A larger gathering witnessed at various polling booths since morning as temperature comes down some extent while light rains in few places, also given some relief to voters to come out of home and exercise their franchise.
