BHUBANESWAR: Prestigious ‘Sarala Puraskar’ given every year to best litearary creation has been presented to renowned Odia storyteller Paramita Satpathy for her novel ‘Abhipreta Kala’. She was presented with citation, trophy and five lakh indian rupees by trusty Ms. Paramita Panda in a simple and short program complying with Covid -19 restrictions.
On this occasion, Ila-Bansidhar Panda Kala Samman went to veteran painter Jagdish Chandra Kanungo and Ghumura artist Jayanta Kumar Behera along with a citation and 1.5 lakh cash award each.
The annual Sarala Puraskar instituted by eminent Odia Industrialist Late Dr. Bansidhar Panda and Late Mrs Ila Panda in the year 1980, has been continuously awarded by Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT). IMPaCT is the charitable wing of IMFA Ltd., the leading and the only fully integrated producer of ferro alloys in India. Sarala Puraskar is recognised as the foremost literary award of our state. This award is one of the finest contributions of IMPaCT to glorify Odia literature. The Ekalabya Puraskar also has been instituted by IMPaCT to encourage promising sports talents of Odisha`.
