TALCHER-KANIHA:The foundation day of NTPC was celebrated as NTPC Raising Day at Talcher Super Thermal Power Station, Kaniha today. NTPC completed 41 years of journey on November 7,2016. To celebrate the special day, “Power Walk” for employees was organised in which senior executives of the station, executives,members of the Ladies club Tanvi Sangam, members of union & association participated. Chief Guest of the occasion Debasis Sarkar ,Group General Manger, Talcher Kaniha hoisted the NTPC flag at PTS ground of the station in the presence of employees and CISF unit. Addressing the gathering Sarkar briefed the performance and important achievements of NTPC & Talcher Kaniha station. He said “NTPC was founded in 1975 as on date it has an installed capacity of 47228 MW with its 44 coal power stations including Coal, Hydro and Solar. NTPC plans to become 1, 28,000 MW company by 2032″. In the current fiscal year 2016-17 ,NTPC has generated power which is
5% more generation than the previous year.”Talcher Kaniha power station during this financial year till November 4,2016 has achieved a PLF of 86.49% with generation of 13,574
Million Units compared,said Sarkar. Sarkar shared the CSR activities conducted by the power station, Dharmendra Pradhan,Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Petroleum & Natural Gas inaugurated a community centre at Bijigol. He added that “NTPC Kaniha organises various CSR activities throughout the year e.g drinking water has been provided to villagers through piped water scheme as well as in water tankers which shows the commitment of the power station towards empowerment of the society”. Sarkar said “NTPC Kaniha bagged two National Safety awards for Accident Free Year & Lowest Average Frequency Rate in Accidents for the Performance Year 2014”.To commemorate the day, a musical programme by Bollywood singer Purva Mantri & troupe is being organised at Talcher Kaniha.
