4 Odisha Rajya Sabha MPs gets place in Parliamentary Panel

BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: As many as 4 Rajya Sabha MPs from Odisha including 3 from BJD and 1 from BJP have got places in various Parliamentary Committees of the Upper House.

Rajya Sabha MP from Odisha, Prasanna Acharya has been appointed as the Chairman of the Petitions Committee of the upper house of the Parliament.

Acharya succeeded BJP’s Prabhat Jha as Petitions Committee’s Chairman as Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday reconstituted eight House Committees.

This apart, MP Sasmit Patra was appointed as a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of Privileges under Chairmanship of Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha

Similarly, MPs Amar Patnaik and Ashwini Vaishnaw were appointed as members of Committee on Subordinate Legislation and Petitions, respectively.
