BHADRAK: On 13.11.2024- A case of murder was reported in Bhadrak Rural PS about- on 13.11.24 at 9.35 AM by one Manoranjan Rout (Age 52 years), S/O- Gangadhara Rout of vill-Bandhagaon PS- Bhadrak Rural PS. He appeared at PS and presented one written report to the effect that his brother Chitaranjan had been outside of house and as he didn’t return in night time, his mobile number was found to be switched off and in not reachable condition.
Then in the next day morning on 13.11.24 , he had received information that one dead body was lying near to one paddy field regarding, he along with other villagers identified the dead body as Chitarajan Rout @ Nalu. As there were multiple injuries on his head, it appeared that some unknown person might have committed murder of his brother. Basing on the report Bhadrak Rural PS case No. 691/24 dtd 13.11.24 U/S 103 BNS was registered and investigation into.
3 teams were formed for the quick detection of the case and after meticulous and sustained investigation it has been transpired that principal accused Bidyut Kumar Sahoo (Dhuma) conspired along with 3 others (1. Badal Kumar Samal 2. Saroj Kumar Sahoo 3. Prasanta Rout) and committed murder of the deceased on the fateful day and time. The Principal accused was having financial dispute with the deceased.
On the day of occurrence while the deceased Nalu@ Chitaranjan Rout was returning to home with his MC from Panchapada after attending a feast, was called by accused Saroj Kumar Sahoo to the play ground in order to consume alcohol. Subsequently the deceased had been to the play ground where all the accused persons including Nalu taken alcohol. After that when the deceased Nalu was returning to home on his way the accused persons Badal, Saroj and Prasant followed him with a MC halted him on the way and committed murder by means of cleaver knife.
The accused Dhuma @ Bidyut Kumar Sahoo contacted with Badal in order to kill Naalu prior to two months before the occurrence and had given cash of Rs 40,000/- as advance out of a fixed deal price of 2.5 lakh due to loss of business of Dhuma by deceased who was the Ex- Sarapanch of Bandhagaon GP.
Accordingly Badal had arranged two of his associates Saroj and Prasant and tried to finish Naalu at several times prior to the occurrence but were not succeeded. Getting the opportunity on 12.11.24 as per the direction of accused Bidyut Kumar Samal (Dhuma) all the accused persons committed the occurrence.
