BHUBANESWAR: With COVID-19 situation in Odisha continued from bad to worst, as many as 26 citizens of Bhutan, stranded in Bhubaneswar due to COVID-19 lockdown, were sent to their country from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here in Odisha in a special flight, sources said on Friday.
A special flight Druk Air KB293 operated from Bangalore landed in Bhubaneswar airport and flew for Paro, Bhutan with 26 stranded tourists, an official said.
” The flight took off at 2 PM today from Bhubaneswar. All stake holders including Customs, Immigration, CISF, and AITSL extended their cooperation for smooth transition and we ensured social distance and cleanliness in the airport,” he added.
