BHUBANESWAR: Within 7 days of time, Naveen Patnaik led BJD Government in Odisha, came up with two COVID-19 hospitals one in Bhubanswar and another in Cuttack.
These hospitals are India’s first largest standalone COVID-19 healthcare facility.Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the hospitals located at KIIMS in Bhubaneswar and Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack through video conferencing.
While the COVID-19 hospital at KIIMS in Bhubaneswar has a capacity of 500, Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack, has 125 beds. Patnaik interacted with doctors & paramedics and appreciated their role in combating the deadly virus. He also congratulated the partner organisations for putting up the facilities in a record time of one week.
These hospitals are ready to provide dedicated healthcare to COVID-19 patients. Both the hospitals have been managed and funded by Odisha Mining Corporation.
It can be mentioned here that the State Government had earlier announced about free treatment, food and stay for patients at the hospitals.
The CMO twitted that “ Today Odisha Govt readied two “Odisha Covid Hospitals” with a capacity of 650 beds including 500 bedded facility near KIMS, #Bhubaneswar and 150 bedded facility at Ashwini hospital, #Cuttack. Both were completed in record time of one week”.
Both the Odisha Covid Hospitals are sponsored by OMC. Govt of Odisha will provide free treatment, free food & stay for all #COVID19 patients in these Hospitals.
CM interacted with doctors and paramedics, appreciated their role and congratulated partner organizations #KIMS & #Ashwini Hospitals for readying the facilities in such a record time.
“CM also stressed that although Odisha is ready to provide better health care to #COVID19 patients in these standalone hospitals, the fight against #COVID19 can be won through #socialdistancing, hand washing & observing #lockdown guidelines strictly.
