2.5 Lakhs SHGs in Odisha receives Interest subvention benefits of Rs 125 Crore

BHUBANESWAR:  Around 2, 50,000 self- help groups (SHGs) were on Monday received interest subvention benefits worth Rs.125 Crore.

Rs 125 Crore was extended directly to SHG accounts through a technology platform, at a  function held here attended by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. A total interest amount of Rs 125 crore on loans taken by the SHGs will be reimbursed. 

Chief Minister Patnaik handed over cheques to members of 5 SHGs, who were present at the programme.

Over the next five years, Mission Shakti has provisioned to distribute loans to the tune of Rs 50,000 crore and provide interest subvention benefits amounting to Rs.1200 crore to the SHGs, Patnaik said. Over the last five years, around 4 lakh SHGs have been credit linked with loans amounting to Rs.17,000 crore,  CM Patnaik added.
