DHENKANAL/BHUBANESWAR: As many as 20 people, mostly workers and staffs, were on Tuesday injured following an accident at the Blast Furnace Power Plant of Tata Steel Meramandali in Dhenkanal in Odisha.
Tata Steel Meramandali in a statement said “ “There is an accident at the Blast Furnace Power Plant of Tata Steel Meramandali in Dhenkanal, Odisha, today at around 1 pm during inspection resulting in burn injuries to 19 persons,”.
“They were immediately shifted to the Occupational Health Centre inside our plant and then to Cuttack for further treatment in our ambulance accompanied by doctor and paramedics. We are working closely with relevant authorities and conducting our own internal investigation. Safety remains our top priority and we’re committed to learning from this incident.
