BHUBANESWAR: In the latest development, of the 25 bigwigs trapped by blackmailer Arachana Nag Chand, 18 were MLAs, mostly from ruling BJD, sources said. Besides, sex racket, Arachana allegedly involved in drug peddling.

Since her arrest, one after another social media account photos of Honeytrap Blackmailer Archana Nag Chand getting deleted while her husband Jagabandhu Chand’s account has been deleted.
If she is in jail, then who is deleting her photos clicked with several bigwigs of Odisha, on regular intervals and this pointing figure towards the investigations of police into the honeytrap case. Why Archana’s photo in social media profile deleted? Who has the password? Why police silent ? These are few questions now debated in intellectual circle. Police inaction against Arachna’s husband , Jagabandhu Chand and middle man , Khageswar, also raised many eyebrows.
Police have lost the confidence of general public on Arachana Nag Chand issue. The actions of Khandgiri , Capital and Nayapalli Police Stations in this case so far, also raised many eyebrows.
Police officials looking into Archana Nag Chand’s honeytrap scandal, found them in surprise after the RBI furnished Bank details of 5 Accounts of the accused. Police had sought bank details of 5 Accounts while it found, over Rs 5 Crore transaction in last 6 months but balance is zero now.
More interestingly, police not found any big transaction , however, sources said, Archana spent around Rs 60 Lakh to 70 Lakh in online shopping in last 6 months. She purchased a white colour Horse at Rs 6 Lakhs from Kolkata. For construction of a big bungalow at Balasore, her husband Jagabandhu Chand’s native place, she reported paid in advance to some contractors.
A former Minister of Odisha, had gifted her a costly LV vanity bag while a Dhenkanal-Angul based MLA also gifted her a Car. Archana had shared the picture of the Vanity bad in her social media account but later deleted it following her arrest. A MLA also gifted a costly jacket made in camel skin, to her.
Police also came to know that Archana used to show sex workers as models to lure bigwigs. Another mastermind, Khageswar may be grilled by police soon, sources said.
The opposition BJP and the Congress in Odisha demanded a high-level investigation into a case in which Arachana was arrested for allegedly blackmailing influential people, including politicians.
The BJP demanded a CBI probe into the matter, alleging that several leaders of the ruling BJD were involved in the case, while the Congress sought a court-monitored SIT investigation.
The State government has been trying to hide the facts stored in electronic gadgets like pen-drive, laptop and mobile phone, Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja said. Illegal assets accumulated by Archana should be seized, truth must surface and wrongdoers must be awarded stringent punishment, the Kantabanji MLA demanded. He demanded SIT probe into the case.
Saluja alleged that ruling Party Ministers, MLAs and few IAS and IPS officers were regular at Acharana’s residence. Opposition BJP also alleged that police have been shielding the delicate issue by acting on the instruction of the State government. Film Makers have announced to release a movie named ‘Mayabini’ soon.
A former Minister and sitting MLA of ruling BJD, had allegedly accompanied Honey Trap Mastermind Archana to Cuttack’s Barabati Stadium to watch the last India-South Africa T20 Match played 2 months back.
