BHUBANESWAR: The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi released the 17th installment of the PM Kisan Honorable Fund Scheme to over 9 crore farmers from Varanasi.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday visisted Bargarh and joined the event of release of the 17th Installment to 9.26 crore beneficiary farmers under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) through Direct Benefit Transfer amounting to more than Rs 20,000 crores.
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, MP Pradeep Purohit, Bijepur MLA Sanat Gartia, Bargarh MLA Ashwini Sarangi, Attabira MLA Nihar Mahananda and Bhatli MLA Irasish Acharya and other senior leaders were present in the event.
About 31.62 lakh farmers of Odisha received Rs 632.48 crore today under PM-KISAN Yojana as Rs 2000 was credited to the bank account of each beneficiary. Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the programme from Varanasi.
After reaching Bargarh, the Chief Minister held a ‘road show’ in with thousands of people thronging the venue. He paid floral tributes to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. He shook hands with people all along the way. People welcomed the Chief Minister with great enthusiasm holding placards. There was great enthusiasm among the people for the new CM.
CM Majhi also congratulated the 31.62 lakh beneficiary farmers of Odisha who received Rs. 2000 each in their bank account in the 17th installment of the PM-KISAN,
The Chief Minister said that on the first day of our government in Odisha, my cabinet decided to increase the minimum support price to Rs 3100 for the collection of paddy from farmers.
He said, “I want no eligible farmer to miss out on the benefits under this scheme. Within the next 15 days, all eligible farmers will be included in this scheme and they will get the benefit in the next instalment.
In the next budget, we will take public opinion into account and a website will be launched for this soon, CM Mohan Majhi added that the Budget will be prepared according to public opinion.
