11th Round and Second Attempt of 10th Round of Commercial Coal Mines’ Auction- Rungta Sons Pvt Ltd Submitted 3 Bids

BHUBANESWAR: The Nominated Authority, Ministry of Coal today opened the bids for the 11th round of commercial coal mines’ auction. This round received unprecedented responses from the bidders. Bids have been received for 20 coal mines out of offered 27 coal mines.

The online bids were decrypted and opened electronically in the presence of the bidders. Subsequently, sealed envelopes containing offline bid documents were also opened in the presence of bidders. Entire process was displayed on the screen for the bidders. Under this round, only 70 bids have been received online, however, 72 bids have been received in physical form.

A total of 65 bids were received against 15 coal mines offered in the 11th round. Under 2nd Attempt of 10th round, a total of 7 coal mines were put up for auction and 5 bids received against 5 coal mines with each mine receiving 1 bid each.

A total of 46 companies have submitted their bids in the auction process. More than 15 new companies including a Coal India subsidiary have participated for the first time under commercial coal mine auction

The participation of new companies in the commercial coal mine auction shows the interest of the companies towards the policy. The coal sector will continue to fuel the economy to become the third-largest economy in the world.

The bids will be evaluated by a multi-disciplinary Technical Evaluation Committee and Technically Qualified Bidders will be shortlisted for participation in the electronic auction, to be conducted on MSTC portal.

Rungta Sons Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Rungta Mines Ltd, headquaters Chaibasa in Jharkhand,  submitted as many as 3 block while other companies , which submitted bids included, Jindal Power Limited , PCIL Power and holdings Limited,  Bharat Aluminium Company Limited, Adani Natural Resources, Greta Energy Limited, The Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation Limited, Western Coalfields Limited, Yajur Comtrade Private Limited, PLR Projects Private Limited, New Era Cleantech Solution Private Limited, Gayatri Rebuild Private Limited, Hind Unitrade Pvt Ltd, Orissa Metaliks Pvt Ltd, SNB Minerals Ltd, The commodity Hub, Sunflag Iron and Steel, JSW Steel Ltd, Jharkhand Exploration and Mining Corporation Limited, Orissa Alloy Steel Pvt Ltd, JMS Commercial Coal Blocks Pvt Ltd, RSPU Mining Pvt. Ltd.

The coal blocks those were offered for auction included Banai & Bhalumunda, Saradhapur Jalatap East, Margo East, Margo West, Non-Coking, Jawardaha North, Non-Coking, jawardaha South, Namchik West, Bandhak West, Vijay Central, Sahapur East, Marwatola II, Dahegaon Makardhokra IV, Namchik East, Senduri, Tandsi III & Tandsi III Extn., Tangardihi North, Ustali North and West of Baisi (Revised).
