CUTTACK/ROURKELA/ANGUL:112 tankers/containers carrying 2112.051 MT medical oxygen have been escorted so far from Rourkela, Jajpur, Dhenkanal and Angul districts of Odisha by Odisha Police. More are leaving on Wednesday.As many as 18 tankers were dispatched from Angul with 278.7 MT, 14 from Dhenkanal with 231.16 MT, 33 from Jajpur with 702.74 MT and 47 from Rourkela with 899.451 MT.
38 tankers with 811.04 MT of oxygen were sent to Andhra Pradesh, 27 tankers with 479.419 MT of oxygen were sent to Telengana. Tamilnadu received 02 tanker filled with 36.1 MT of medical oxygen. Haryana received 08 tankers filled with 187.512 MT of oxygen. 06 tankers with 112.06 MT of oxygen were sent to Maharashtra, while 78.22 MT of oxygen filled in 5 tankers have left for Chhattisgarh. 09 tankers have carried around 156.38 MT of oxygen to Uttar Pradesh and 17 nos of tankers with 251.32 MT of oxygen were sent to Madhya Pradesh in last 06 days.
Based on the directive of Chief Minister, a Special Cell was formed under Shri Y K Jethwa, ADG (L&O) as the Nodal Officer for coordinated action for loading and transportation of medical oxygen by Odisha to States facing deficit. A Dedicated Corridor has been set up with round the clock monitoring. District SsP/DCsP and Range DIG/IG/CP are supervising the movement personally within their jurisdictions.
