BHUBANESWAR: A BJP Odisha delegation submitted a memorandum to State Election Commission requesting adequate representation of OBCs in Panchayat Elections through a constitutional mechanism which is in line with directions of the Supreme Court and subsequent appeal of Government of India.
Unfortunately, the Government is pursuing to conduct elections without reservations to OBCs, such an election would deprive the persons belonging to OBC for 5 long years which by no stretch of logic can be said to be a short period causing grave prejudices to the backward classes, BJP said.
Earlier, on Wednesday, BJP MLAs and senior leaders of the party gave letter to Governor of Odisha Prof. Ganeshi Lal ji requesting kind intervention to ensure Panchayat Election to be held by ensuring reservation to OBCs.
ରାଜ୍ୟ ସରକାର ଓବିସିମାନଙ୍କୁ ସଂରକ୍ଷଣ ନ ଦେଇ ପଞ୍ଚାୟତ ନିର୍ବାଚନ କରିବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରୁଛି। ଏହାଦ୍ୱାରା ରାଜ୍ୟରେ ଥିବା ୫୪% ଓବିସି ବର୍ଗର ଲୋକ ପଞ୍ଚାୟତ ନିର୍ବାଚନ ପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟାରେ ଭାଗ ନେବା ପାଇଁ ଆଗାମୀ ୫ ବର୍ଷ ପାଇଁ ବଞ୍ଚିତ ହେବେ ଯାହା ପଛୁଆବର୍ଗଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଏକ ଶକ୍ତ ଧକ୍କା ସଦୃଶ।
ଏହର ତୁରନ୍ତ ସମାଧାନ ଦାବିରେ ରାଜ୍ୟ ବିଜେପି ବିଧାୟକଙ୍କ ସହ ଏକ ପ୍ରତିନିଧି ମଣ୍ଡଳ ରାଜ୍ୟ ନିର୍ବାଚନ କମିଶନଙ୍କୁ ଭେଟି ଦାବିପତ୍ର ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ସୁପ୍ରିମକୋର୍ଟ ଓ ଭାରତ ସରକାରଙ୍କ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶକୁ ମାନି ଓବିସିମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିର୍ବାଚନରେ ପ୍ରତିନିଧିତ୍ଵ କରିବାର ସୁଯୋଗ ଦେବା ସହ ସାମ୍ବିଧାନିକ ପ୍ରଣାଳୀରେ ନିର୍ବାଚନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଅନୁରୋଧ କରିଛନ୍ତି।.
