Steel Sector Employees-Staffs donates Rs 515 crore to PM CARES fund

NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: With Dharmendra Pradhan at the helm of affairs, both his PNG-Steel Ministries have contributed significantly to PM CARES fund  to fight the outbreak of COVID-19.  Steel sector Employees and staffs both in public and private sectors, contributed Rs 515 crore . They have donated the fund to fight the deadly coronavirus after the employees of Indian Oil Corporation contributed Rs 1031.29 crore to the newly constituted PM CARES fund on Monday.

Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan tweeted and praised the employees of the Indian Steel sector that they are united to fight the deadly coronavirus.Pradhan said in a single day Rs 1092.29 crore has been donated to the fund which is highest so far.

The Union minister said the public sector undertakings have already announced that the showroom staff and LPG distributors, mechanics and delivery boys will be provided with the financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh in case they die of coronavirus.

Several Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) under the  Ministry of Steel have made payment of  due tax to the government  under Vivad Se Vishwas scheme by 31st March 2020. Government  initiated Vivad Se Vishwas scheme with the objective of  reducing income tax pending litigation,  generate timely revenues for the Government and  help taxpayers to end their tax disputes with the department by paying disputed tax and get waiver from payment of interest and penalty

Earlier, in continuation with his interaction with state teams of our OMCs from across the country, interacted with state heads of far-flung areas like Ladakh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland etc. to take stock of operations and supply situation to ensure smooth supply of petroleum products, Union Minister Pradhan had announced that all our teams are working 24/7 to provide essential petroleum products to our citizens as well as to our vital installations. There is no shortage of fuel. Petrol, diesel and LPG is in abundant supply from Kashmir to Kanyakumari & from Kutch to Kohima.
