Shipping Ministry, Employees of Major Port contributes Rs 59 crore to PM-CARES

NEW DELHI/PARADIP:  All Major Ports and Public Sector Undertakings under Ministry of Shipping have decided to contribute Rs.52 Crore as CSR fund to ‘Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund’ (PM CARES Fund) which has been created to provide relief to Coronavirus ( COVID-19) pandemic affected people.

Employees of the all Major Ports and PSUs under the Ministry of Shipping have come forward to donate a day’s salary amounting to Rs7 crore to PM-CARES Fund, for providing assistance to those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Paradip Port Trust, which houses 740 employees, has contributed Rs 15,43,862 as part of 1 day salary while Paradip Port Trust donated 8 crore.
