Several Maoists’ Rebels Surrender before Odisha DGP

BHUBANESWAR/MALKANGIRI: A good numbers of outlawed  militias and Maoist sympathisers have surrendered before the Odisha DGP SK Bansal, who was on a visit to the left-wing insurgency hit Malkangri on Thursday.

The surrendered Maoists also took a pledge not to support or perpetrate violence. DGP appealed to the Maoists to surrender and join the mainstream. All should come and partake in the development.

Director Intelligence, Sanjiv Panda, ADGP L&O, RK Sharma IGP Operations, Amitabh Thakur, IGP BSF and DIGP SIW Anirudha Singh, DIG SWR, Rajesh Pandit , SP Malkangiri & other senior Police officers were present.

Earlier, DGP SK Bansal on Thursday inaugurated the new building of Mathili Police Station, Malkangiri. He also interacted with the local population.
