JSPL’s integrated steel plant in Angul reported the highest ever monthly production to 4.16 lakh tonnes earlier this month. The JSPL after bagging the Gare Palama Coal block in Chhattisgarh is now seriously looking for Chendipada Coal block under Talcher Coal Fields of Odisha’s Angul.

JSPL’s coal gasification plant capacity is 225,000 NM3 per hour of syngas, which is supporting the 2.0 million MT of syngas based DRI plant.JSPL currently has a requirement of around 5.5 million MT per year of metallurgical coal and 7 million MT of thermal coal requirements.

The doubling of 13.5 km track between Kerajang and Angul, a part of the doubling of Sambalpur-Talcher link , will help JSPL in view of loading as this line is very important as it will have a surge from 3 to 6 MT from JSPL siding.
