Ghanashyam Misra and Sons Pvt Ltd retains Gorumahisani Iron Ore block

BHUBANESWAR: Jagadish Misra proved his mettle again after Ghanashyam Misra and Sons Pvt Ltd Mishra & Sons on Tuesday retained Gorumahisani iron ore block in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district auction at a premium of 115 per cent. The Odisha government had fixed the floor price for the block at 66.25 per cent. This was the 11th of the 19 mines enlisted for auction in Odisha.

It may be noted here that Badampahar Iron ore 129.61 6.16 M/s Lal Traders &Agencies (P) Ltd.(Put on hold for Court case) . M/s Lal Traders &Agencies (P) Ltd led by Raj Kumar Mishra is part of the Ghanashyam Misra and Sons Pvt Ltd Mishra & Sons.

Gorumahisani iron ore block in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district has an estimated ore reserve of 17.60 million tonnes, which is being held by Kolkata based M/s G.S. Mishra & Sons. A total of 11 mining companies were in the final race for the block with estimated ore reserve of 17.60 million tonnes.

Apart from the lessees Ghanashyam Mishra and Sons Pvt Ltd, GV Mines Minerals & Metals Private Limited, API Ispat and Powertech (P) Ltd, Mahendra Sponge And Power Ltd, Shyam Sel And Power Ltd, Super Smelters Ltd, Thakur Prasad Sao & Sons Pvt Ltd, Neo Metaliks Ltd, Gopal Sponge and Power Pvt Ltd, MSP Cement Ltd and Altrade Minerals Pvt Ltd were in race.

On Sunday, Goa-based mining form Sociedad De Fomento Industrial Pvt Ltd bagged Nadidih iron and manganese mine by committing to pay the average sale of 141.25 per cent to the state government.

Patnaik Minerals Pvt Ltd bagged Mahulsukha iron ore and manganese mines in Odisha, which went under the hammer, at a premium of 92.70 per cent on Saturday.

On Friday, Kolkata-based Khatua Narbheram & Co. retained the Roida II iron ore mines at a premium of 90.90 per cent.

JSW has won four blocks – Nuagaon (January 31),Narayanposhi (February 2) and Ganua (February 5) and Jajang (January 6) – with total ore reserve of 1,138.34 million tonnes.

Shyam Ore bagged the Jilling-Langalota iron ore block in Odisha’s Keonjhar district by committing to pay 135 per cent of average sale price to the Odisha government on Wednesday (February 5).

On Tuesday (February 4), Serajuddin and Co retained Balda iron ore block during the auction that went past midnight (2.41 am). ArcelorMittal India Pvt Ltd had won Thakurani iron ore block notified for auction in Odisha on Monday (February 3).
