NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) has contributed Rs. 25 Crore to the PM-CARES Fund to support the Government’s mission to curb COVID-19 pandemic in India.
Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan hailed the development and twitted the significant contribution of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd to PMRF to fight the spread of COVID-19.“Thank you@JSPLCorporate.This gesture is very helpful,” the PM Modi twitted.
“Thanked Naveen Jindal Ji for Jindal Steel and Power Limited’s contribution of Rs 25 crore to PMRF,” Union Minister PNG-Steel Minister Pradhan twitted and shared the twits of JSPL boss Naveen Jindal in his personal timeline in his Facebook Page, which got also huge praise from the other visitors.
Union PNG-Steel Minister Pradhan’s twit came soon after Prime Minister Modi praising the JSPL Chiarman Naveen Jindal for his contribution.
“To support India’s war against COVID-19, @JSPLCorporate is making an immediate contribution of Rs. 25 crores to the PM CARES Fund. We will continue to extend every possible support to our nation in this fight against Covid-19,” said Naveen Jindal, Chairman of JSPL, in a tweet.
JSPL announced about this contribution on the occasion of 15th Death Anniversary of O.P. Jindal, Founder of OP Jindal Group. In addition to this, JSPL has also joined its hand with the Government to fight the outbreak of coronavirus in the country in multi-dimensional public service deliveries.
Pursuing the Mission Zero Hunger, JSPL Foundation, the CSR arm of JSPL, is providing food and other essential supplies to the local communities in the vicinity of its manufacturing locations. As of now, more than 3000 meals / cooked food packets are served by the JSPL Foundation to the socially vulnerable, destitute, indigenous community and other underprivileged people in and around the vicinity of JSPL’s Plants in Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
The Steel maker has also upgraded its hospitals to fight this pandemic by equipping them with additional ventilators and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits and creating isolation wards.
JSPL is also providing medical support through its hospitals and OSH centres and has created quarantine facilities at its manufacturing locations.
JSPL Foundation promoted Women Self Help Groups , equipped with skill and machines have so far made more than one lakh masks and distributed amongst local community , its workforce as well as the vendors and truckers , after appropriate UV treatment .
JSPL Foundation, under the mentoring of its Chairperson Shallu Jindal is striving to reach all sections of the society with the masks, sanitisers, handwash and other hygienic products to the villages around its operational locations in Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
