Dharmendra dedicates HPCL Green R&D Centre to Nation

BENGALURU: Minister of State (I/C) MoP&NG, Dharmendra Pradhan dedicated HPCL’s new Green R&D Centre in Devengunthi, Bengaluru to the nation at Bengaluru; in the presence of Secretary-MOP&NG, K D Tripathi, senior officials of MOPNG, Oil Industry, Delegates from India & Abroad and others.

HPCL has set-up its prestigious HP Green R&D Centre in the garden city of Bengaluru. It is a vibrant research centre in India for carrying out research and development activities in hydrocarbon and alternate energy sector.

The centre is pursuing research activities in the areas of catalysis, fluid catalytic cracking, hydro processing, process intensification, residue upgradation, crude and crude compatibility, novel separations, nanotechnology and alternative energies such as bio-fuels, solar.

It currently has a dedicated team of over 80 scientists. The centre is recognized by The Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) and has collaborations with research institutes in India and abroad.

HPCL is also organizing a 2-day International Conference on the theme “Energy Innovations: Today and Tomorrow” on 14th and 15th October, 2016 which was also inaugurated by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan in the presence of dignitaries and delagates.Dharmendra Pradhan interacted with the eminent speakers, scientists, R&D professionals from various Universities and Laboratories across the world including IITs, IISc. and other premier institutions who were participating in the 2-day conference on Energy Innovations.

He congratulated over 80 young scientists at HP Green R&D centre who chose field of research and are working for technological development of the nation. He said that he was confident of our young generation to create a revolution in the field of research & development and emphasized on the utilization of Start Up fund for R&D in energy sector by Oil PSUs. He expressed his happiness towards HPCL having taken up the responsibility of research culture, thru their R&D initiative and said that dedication of HP Green R&D centre has come around at the right time.

The International Conference, themed “Energy Innovations: Today and Tomorrow” will provide an open platform to discuss the global challenges amidst growing consumption, stringent environment regulations, oil price volatility and stressed margins.
