RANCHI/BHUBANESWAR: A COVID awareness program on “My health, My responsibility” under the aegis of Swayamsiddha Ladies Club, NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters (CMHQ), Ranchi was conducted . The program was graced by the august presence of Partha Mazumder, Regional Executive Director(Coal Mining), Mahua Mazumder, President, Swayamsiddha Ladies Club and Heads of NTPC Coal Mining Projects. In view of COVID protocols, the program was held virtually through MSTeams.The program saw participation by employees, office bearers of Swayamsiddha Ladies Club and Presidents & Office bearers of various Ladies Clubs from all Coal Mining Projects.
During the inaugural session, Mahua Mazumder, President, Swayamsiddha Ladies Club welcomed the participants and shared the brief background for organising the awareness program which she stated as the need of the hour. She said the battle COVID-19 infection can be only countered with the right information for awareness and prevention. She thanked the faculty, Dr Pradhan for facilitating the awareness program which was meant for employees and family members of coal mining projects including headquarters.
Dr Kabibar Pradhan, CMO, PBCMP during the session highlighted the factors for the occurrence of COVID -19 pandemic and its current trend of infection globally with an emphasis on its impact in India and NTPC vis -a- vis to COVID Wave I, Wave II and much predicted 3rd Wave as per experts. Dr Pradhan said COVID-19 can be prevented If COVID appropriate behaviour is being followed. He shared the importance of COVID protocols, the correct diet, immunity boosters and vaccination which are the major factors to fight against the pandemic. On the occasion, Dr Pradhan also replied to queries from participants on various concerns related to the ongoing pandemic.The awareness program concluded with a vote of thanks from Wilson Abraham, AGM(HR), NTPC CMHQ. The program was hosted by Tanmoy Dutta, DGM(HR).
