SOA NCC Cadets Carve a Niche for Themselves

BHUBANESWAR:  Amidst the gloom caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, a team of NCC volunteers which in included cadets from Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA), have reached out to people in distress in Cuttack city by setting up a digital helpdesk.

 Under mission ‘NCC Yogdan’, the team has been working tirelessly for over a month now providing assistance to people making available oxygen cylinders, providing information about availability of ICU beds in hospitals, arranging ambulance, delivering medicines and even ensuring delivery of food in homes.

 The mission was carried out by 4(O) CTC, Cuttack Group Headquarters, NCC under the leadership of Officer Commanding Lt. Col. Umesh Marwaha. The team, comprising cadets from Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER) of SOA and Aryan college, had already provided help to over 70 Covid-19 patients. Utilising the social media and links with NCC units in other states, they even reached help to people elsewhere.

The team comprised ANO Lt. Sachidananda Sahoo, ANO Lt. Rudra Prakash Nanda, Cadets Senior Under Officer Ankit Raj Biswal, Junior Under Officer Aniket Nayak, Junior Under Officer Bishant Nayak and Junior Under Officer Siddhant Sekhar.
