NTPC Talcher-Kaniha observes Van Mahotsav

TALCHER/KANIHA: ‘Van Mahotsav’ was celebrated at NTPC Talcher Super Thermal Power Station, Kaniha on Friday. On this occasion,  Debasis Sarkar, Group General Manager, on his address emphasized the importance of trees & forest in our day to day life.

“Trees are like a lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to us. Less or no forests cause havoc with rainfall, climate, agricultural production and health of people.

All these disadvantages of destruction of trees and forests can be balanced only with plantation of trees and adopting the process of afforestation”.said  Sarkar. He also urged upon to take all possible efforts for Water Conservation &maximum use of Renewable energy sources”

Mass Tree Plantation were organized in this occasion wherein 1050 Nos of trees were planted. The station has also planned to undertake 35,000 plantations during 2017-18 in and around the station.

The programme was also graced by the presence of.A. K. Tripathy,GM(O&M), . N. Acharya, GM (Maintenance), S. Ghosh,GM (Operation),  Anil Jana, GM(FM),  N S Rao GM(TS) ,  H. K, Dash GM(C&M),  K S Sarma,AGM(HR) & other Senior, officials of the station,  Susmita  Acharya, President Tanvi Sangam.

Representatives of Unions & Association, members of Tanvi Sangam, CISF personnel, Employees of TSTPS Kaniha & their family members & Children from different schools participated in large numbers in this program and made it a grand success.
