Debasis Sarkar takes over as Group GM in NTPC-Talcher-Kaniha By Our Business Affairs Bureau


TALCHER-KANIHA: Debasis Sarkar assumed charge as Group General Manager of NTPC Talcher Super Thermal Power Station, Kaniha w.e.f 05.11.2016 on release of N K Kothari. A bachelor in Electrical engineering from Jadavpur University, Calcutta (1982), Shri Sarkar joined NTPC  in September 1982 as an Executive Trainee. Born on 01.01.1961, Sarkar has a long stint of 35 years service in NTPC.He started his career at Farakka Super Thermal Power Station, West Bengal. He has earlier held the positions of Head of (Operation) in Talcher Super Thermal Power Station & Head of (O&M) in Kahalgoan Super Thermal Power Station from 2009 to 2011. He has also held the positions of Business Unit Head of NSPCL, Rourkela and NSPCL ,Bhilai and later headed Badarpur Thermal Power Station ,New Delhi and subsequently become the head of the project of Dadri  Thermal Power Plant in 2015 before joining TSTPS. Sarkar has a long work experience in the field of Electrical Erection, Operation, Commissioning and Testing and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) and as a Head of Project. He has attended many important training programmes within the country and abroad including Leadership programme for ED’s and GM’s in Washington (DC),USA in 2013.
